It's that time of the year again, when the crazy end-of-year holiday 🎁 season shenanigans take centre stage! 🎉

We're right there with you. This year has thrown its fair share of (economic) curveballs, and it's about time we all enjoyed a well-deserved break. Say goodbye 👋 to endless video calls, makeshift home offices, and (un)predictable interest rate 📈 hikes (we wish)!

Our December newsletter is always breezy and bright with standout marketing campaigns, a bucket 🪣 of inspiration and good stuff.

From our Banter family to yours, we're wishing you an absolutely fantastic holiday season. Take this chance to recharge, let your hair down, laugh till your sides ache, and cherish the warmth of your nearest and dearest. 🌟🎄

Please note our office will be closed on Friday 22nd December 2022,
reopening on Monday 8th January 2024.

Cats are evil

If you know me, you'll know I think cats suck. They are so evil 😈, and they will kill you in your sleep if you give them half the chance. I'm most certainly a dog person, literally, I'm a lap Labrador. That's what makes this campaign from Temptations (pet food) so perfectly awesome. They've challenged global 😼 behaviour and coupled it with cringe-worthy 70s styling to produce this ever-so-spot-on promotion for pet food.

Webjet goes punk

This latest Aussie Webjet campaign caught my inner goth's eye with its punk-infused creative. Deborah Mailman narrates its “rockumentary” 🤘🏽which is directed by Matthew McCaughey. The insight is simple: communicate the ease and speed of booking complex itineraries on a tight budget. This would normally be reserved for a travel agent, and Webjet is jumping on that insight with this heartthrob band, Steamhunk. Now... where are those Doc Martens of mine?

How rad is this building!

On a "left-over" corner site in Hoxton, east London, is this beautifully designed space for local charity Ivy Street Family Centre (ISFC). Not a white-cube-design in sight, this architectural stunner has diamond windows, an art-deco door and original frontage of a former pub. I won't do it justice in this blurb, you've gotta see it to believe it, and hear the amazing mix of artistry in this end result building.

Merc or BMW?

Mercedes Benz and BMW - friends or foe? This super clever campaign is all about the CEO of Mercedes Benz, Dieter Zetsche retiring.

It's Zetsche’s last day at the company, including greetings, handshakes, group selfies and the last trip home in his impeccable company Mercedes that leaves him in front of his garage. Enter BMW with the curve-ball to the storyline.

Competition is healthy.

Knock Knock - a silent police call

The Knock Knock campaign addresses the issue of DV in Korea - a solution that allows victims of domestic violence to alert the police without saying a word. Victims simply dial 112 and tap any number twice.

Once reported to the police, a link is sent to the victim that will immediately allow the police to identify the scene, track the victim’s location, and communicate with the victim undetected by the abuser.

Is it any surprise that this campaign has taken out several awards, including the Glass Lions Grand Prix Cannes Lions 2023? Clever.

Lambo Luxury

I couldn't go past including these planned Lamborghini-fueled villas on the south coast of Spain.

Named Tierra Viva, the development will consist of 53 two-storey villas on a hillside in the town of Behanavís near Marbella. The villas were designed to reflect the ethos of the sports car brand.

They will all have a pair of swimming pools with views of the Mediterranean, along with multiple terraces. The villas will have floor-to-ceiling glazing and be finished with marble floors. Um, but who exactly needs a 'pair' of swimming pools 🏊🏼‍♀️? Don't answer that...

That's it from me. My Christmas luxury is not seeing an email for at least 10 days straight, and equally, spending all day with my husband & children for 10 days straight!

See you in the new year xx 😊
