SEO is changing. Is TikTok part of your strategy?
It’s not for everyone, but it should be on your consideration list. I love Google, no doubt, but the TikTok behemoth isn’t far behind Google’s popularity with the behaviour of younger people (well, younger than me 🤭).
You see, TikTok is being used (and growing in popularity) as a search engine. Don’t think Google hasn’t noticed; they are now incorporating TikTok videos into featured snippets and Search Generative Experience (SGE).
Opportunity comes from watching 👀 behaviour. TikTok is short-form storytelling, its personalisation algorithm is pretty good and information is quicker than lightning.⚡️ X used to be the leader in immediate news, and it’s now overtaken by TikTok as a preference for younger people. Not all people - young people. How young? Gen Z young (they’re aged 12-27). Great for ‘discovery’, then they move to Google for more research and detailed info.
As search habits fragment, brands need to invest in their broader SEO strategy to gain more visibility with search 🔍 preferences.
Meta Cuts 3rd Party Access to Groups
Not all changes are positive ones, like this one from Meta. They’ve decided that Facebook Group Admins can no longer schedule or publish content into your Facebook Group via ANY third-party app, including live-streaming apps. Yep. 🤔
What you need to consider, is how this will impact you and your group. If it’s any indication - the gods of social, Social Media Examiner announced they will be moving their successful Social Media Marketing Society member community OFF of Facebook Groups to an alternative platform.
Why exactly would Meta do this? They haven’t addressed why, but my hunch is they aren’t making any money from Groups, so why help facilitate them for free?
