I hope you’re coping as best you can.
Every circumstance I’ve come across has its challenges
and whatever your best-can-do is, it’s enough.
With all this reflection, I took an opportunity too, to learn what we could do to improve Banter Group, by releasing our first-ever client survey. Thank you to our clients who participated with their honest feedback which will help us refine what we do, the process we take and how we communicate it all. It’s vital for all businesses to step back, assess and reassess how things are operating; we are no different. Congratulations to our survey draw winner, Owen Zupp: pilot, author & speaker, who takes home a $200 restaurant voucher for his fave dining location, Onesta Cucina.
Owen and his pilot wife, Kirrily were both stood down recently, so Owen’s new book is available as a free download, sharing their experiences. Get it now.
As restrictions lift, we welcome our clients back to meet with us face to face if we can do so safely and we’re enjoying getting back out there to visit our local shops and share a street wave 👋. Looking forward to seeing you, one way or another.

Facebook and Instagram Business Resource Hub
I’ve found many people aren’t aware of this great resource for business, directly from Facebook. The resource ⚙️ hub provides endless content to get you in good shape across Facebook and Instagram.
Whilst you can expect the usual resources in statistics, insights and advertising specifications; many people miss the golden nuggets available such as online training courses, a case study library and media behaviour research.
If you can set aside just 20 mins a day to grow your knowledge, then this resource hub should be top of your list. 20 mins. A quiet cuppa ☕. 10 steps forward. Go you! 🏆
Facebook Messenger Rooms takes on Zoom
Facebook is launching a brand new way to connect with your community – Messenger Rooms. Like a virtual conference call, you can set up and invite anyone to join a call. Taking on the likes of Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, users can create a video chat room via Facebook or the Messenger app and invite up to 50 people to join a video call, and users don’t have to have a Facebook account. There’s also no time limits on calls.
To get started:
1. Open the Messenger app
2. Tap the People tab at the bottom right of the screen
3. Tap Create a Room, and select the people who you want to join
4. To share a room with people who don’t have a Facebook account, you can share the link with them. You can also share the room in your News Feed, Groups and Events.
You can join a room from your phone or computer – no need to download anything, according to Facebook.
Happy Zooming! I mean, Rooming! 🎥
We need mental health training
For the first time, I’m sacrificing promoting our blog for promoting something that I truly believe in. Mental Health Education & Training.
Mental Health Training Australia specialise in providing mental health training programs for organisations striving to create and maintain a culture amongst their staff or members where it’s okay to talk about and then get help for any mental health issues they may be experiencing.
COVID-19 is screwing with the best of us, and most of all, no-one is immune from mental health impact 🧠 – you may be a sufferer, you may be a witness, you may be the person that can change someone’s life – if you knew how to recognise, manage, deal with and support all sorts of mental health in various forms, we’re all better off.
These courses are perfect for businesses and individuals, simply to make us more informed, equipped and skilled to notice when yourself and others might be struggling with their mental health and how to help source the support they need.
People left unsupported and mental health issues left unresolved are the leading causes of disability in our workforce. Disability refers to increased time off work, lower productivity, and long term health issues which contribute to poor workplace culture, higher staff turnover, increased worker’s compensation claims.
These inexpensive online and face to face courses are available now ✔️. This is the time to progress your learning and approach to our new world order, because mental health recovery is years in the making 🌸.
Flower Flower
There are flowers 🌼, and there’s Flower Flower. The renowned Southern Highlands florist creates masterpiece arrangements for every event and purpose you could poke a stick at. You’ve likely seen the handy-work of these lovely ladies, Sarah & Celeste, in local venues such as Bendooley Estate and The Shaggy Cow.
It’s a joy to receive a brief to create the website for this business, where the product is so visually outstanding 🌺 and making it easy to be distracted. That brief came with a caveat: to be up and running before the biggest trade day of the year, 🌹Mother’s Day. That gave us 3 weeks from our first meeting to deliver a freshly designed e-commerce website 🌷, complete with add-on favourites of chocolates, hampers and bubbles 🍾.
We think the results are well, bloomin’ 🌻 marvellous, and with Mother’s Day a raging online success, we’re confident that Flower Flower’s new site is easy to navigate and inspiring to browse. There’s even a Valentina plant. Who knew!
Marketing To Millennials and Digital Training Online for FREE
It’s all gone live! My Marketing To Millennials 30 min presentation is now available for the open world to see, available on YouTube through realestate.com.au‘s Prop 20 Online Hub. Not just about property 🏢 and real estate, this is all about generational change, technological advancement and consumer behaviour all tied in together. If you’re needing to talk to 75% of the world’s population in the next 10 years, then you need to get up to speed with Millennials.
I’ve also been fortunate enough to have produced a 5-part podcast series with digital sales leader, Steven Carroll. Brought to you for free from L J Hooker, the Digital You podcast channel is a dedicated destination for all things digital. In my 5 part series, I’m talking about:
- Using LinkedIn to win listings, build profile and recruit talented staff
- Dominating Google 🔍 to stand out from your competitors
- Using Facebook as a primary listing strategy
- Using digital marketing to build your own leads pipeline
- Using Instagram to build trust and how to interact with consumers
This isn’t just about property either! Applying this knowledge to any business is where you’re going to make the most difference to your day-to-day. Stay ahead of the competition by just doing some basic digital homework. Take some time to learn, upskill and DO. It’s the doing that most people struggle with!
New Dining Formats: Post Covid-19
It’s on everyone’s mind – what does a post-covid dining 🍽️ environment look like? If the experience needs to change, then just how far do we have to go to meet the requirements?
Taking a look around the globe is a wonderful summation from Wunderman Thompson, and these images will surely surprise and delight you, for varying reasons. I understand the need for safety, but there is a purpose for most people dining out, and for me, that purpose is the environment and vibe that I feel whilst in an establishment. Something about large plastic dividers is a bit of a mood-killer. Then I guess, COVID is a bit of a killer too, isn’t it 😷.
Until next time, enjoy! 😀
