There’s always something going on at Banter and this year seems to be all about the people – the team that make our client work go around and my work life a very happy place. 🥰
This month I have two amazing team members to introduce to you. If you watch our socials you might have already spotted them.
Meet Nik Love, Senior Web Producer. Nik’s 20+ years in website development, digital marketing and being the technical lead on large-scale eComm, B2B and B2C websites gives him a huge pool of experience that he brings to our projects. We love his tech-speaking skillset which is more like a game of bingo for most people, but for us, they’re everyday requirements for our clients and Nik’s all over it.
Meet Alana Kaye, Social Media Manager. Alana’s social experience and content creation 🤳🏻 for brands led us to seek her out to join our team. Being social, you’d expect a colourful career and she doesn’t disappoint, with a degree in acting, food magazine writing credits, and a lengthy career in the 🍷 wine industry.
We’re always growing and better still, growing stronger 💪 . Surround yourself with good people they say. So I did.
Are you game?
Hello, my name is Valentina and I’m a self-confessed 🎮 gamer. Not only a gamer, but I’m influenced by other gamers and with the amount of time I spend in games, it’s a very closed environment I’m in – with constant ad exposure from the limited advertisers willing to put their bucks in front of my eyeballs 👀.
Ad spending tied to gaming is still relatively small compared to the total spent on digital advertising. However, its growth rate is strong, and its potential is nothing less than staggering.
The seismic shift of attention from analog media like traditional TV, print, and radio to digital ads like paid search, display, and social campaigns reached a tipping point around 2019 when digital ad spending eclipsed traditional.
And if you think gamers are all 16 year olds tucked away in their bedrooms…think again. In the U.S., women account for about 45% of the gamers and almost 30% of U.S. gamers are over 45. Disposable income much?
Advertisers at the start line. Game On. 🕹️
LinkedIn Tools For Creators
I feel sorry for LinkedIn. I love it because it’s simple, but I get bored, because it’s simple. Can’t win. 🤷♀️ The latest round of features are a welcome addition for we daily users and they could just help to make the platform a teeny bit more engaging and sticky, for you too. Updates and improvements include:
✅ Creator analytics is new
✅ Post analytics has improved
✅ Subscribe bell in a bio alerts you to new posts by your faves
✅ Profile video (kinda funny that we’ve seen this come and go by Facebook before LinkedIn has even tried it)
✅ Feature your Newsletter – you can add it to your profile
Something is better than nothing with LinkedIn, so give yourself the best chance of being found and being useful to your connections.
Sundaram Financial Services
We’re thrilled to be able to share with you one of our largest website builds, for Sundaram Business Services. Sundaram came to us as a referral from another happy client – which is the best compliment ever.
Sundaram provides end-to-end outsourced CFO Support Solutions for corporations, as well as Business Advisory Support for accounting firms.
This India-based firm supports hundreds of Australian businesses and prides itself on building excellent relationships built on service and honesty.
Banter’s role was to assist the team in identifying their service offering and copy needs when speaking to their Australian audiences. We reflected this throughout the newly designed and built website – packed with resources and success stories to generate leads. 👏
Working with this progressive and forward-thinking client was exciting for us and having the chance to meet face to face earlier this year was so rewarding for the whole team.
Our engagement now continues with content writing and social media support and we’re looking forward to helping this terrific business grow.
Real Estate Agency, Revitalised
It was a whole Banter team effort when it came to revitalising the Duncan Hill Property brand. Duncan and Belinda Hill wanted a fresh look for the business, and we think you’ll agree that Duncan Hill Property looks smart out there.
We started with a brand refresh, brightening up the accent blue and modernising the look with dark grey and complementary neutrals.
The new look was then applied to a website redesign and rebuild (rebuild by MRI Box & Dice), including copywriting and the creation of the hero video 📹 (check it out on the website homepage) that showcases the connection between people and property. 🙍🌿
As with all awesome branding projects, the rollout included the design of all building signage and the design of collateral – directional spike boards, signboard stickers & flags, social media templates, t-shirts 👕, hats 🧢 & umbrellas ☂️.
We are humbled that Banter was entrusted by the Duncan Hill Property team to bolster their brand presence and continue their success.

3 Ways to Get on Your Followers’ Instagram Favorites Feed

Radical Candor: Ruinous Empathy.
Yep, it’s a thing. A big thing. From the wonderful leadership book Radical Candor, you will learn about Ruinous Empathy.
Ruinous Empathy™ is “nice” but ultimately unhelpful or even damaging. It’s what happens when you care about someone personally, but fail to challenge them directly. It’s praise that isn’t specific enough to help the person understand what was good, or criticism that is sugar-coated and unclear.
Just another small lesson in leadership that can make a big difference. I’m not exactly happy to admit that this is something I need to work on – but I am happy to admit that I can face what I do need to work on, and actively engage in tactics to improve myself as a leader.
Online Educational Tool is a Marketplace
🧑🌾 Farmers are the bedrock of the €6 trillion agriculture and food trade market, yet they make the least profit of all the main players in the food value chain.
Wikifarmer is a new platform for agricultural information and technological developments. The library, in 15 languages, offers thousands of user-generated articles for free, covering a huge diversity of topics, including the latest technology information and guidelines for best practices around the world 🌏 .
The platform also acts as a global farmer’s market. For shoppers, this marketplace provides a direct link to food producers in every region. The marketplace represents a welcome simplification of the food supply chain. Selling directly to consumers means that farmers can avoid commissions paid to the multitude of intermediaries they must normally deal with. So far, around 30,000 products have been listed on the site, and more than 5,000 customers have bought products directly from farmers.
What wonderful news this is for our tireless farmers, feeding the world.
Catch you next time 😃
