Built of local sandstone, rendered sand stock bricks, and a shingle roof, The Surveyor General Inn was constructed in Berrima in 1834 for James Harper and licensed a year later. It is a Southern Highlands institution, with its beautiful beer garden and stunning heritage surrounds.
The Brief:
Modern-Heritage. The owners and patrons love the history and feel of the building and wanted to update the brand to position the Inn as a friendly and contemporary establishment whilst retaining its remarkable heritage.
The Deliverables:
The Outcomes:
A classic rebranded. We started by re-drawing the iconic facade of the building and combined this with a bold modern typeface to create a contemporary and immediately recognisable logo. A heritage inspired colour palette lifted from the sandstone and colours of the building are combined with vintage lithographic illustrations and beautiful food photography. We applied this updated brand to the building signage, menus and website. The new website now also allows patrons to book tables and events online directly, leading to huge efficiencies for staff and greater bookings taken. Eat, drink and be merry!
